I don't think that Sony is even planning on it being a system seller. The new trailer that was released last week of Motorstorm looks virtually identical to the CGI trailer from last year. The sparks are not that impressive for me, but look the same as what's in both of the Full Auto games. Hopefully it's not the direction that developers will go and over use them, like the bloom effects that they're doing now. I think the blur is way overused as well, but I think the textures look great ...

Comparing A-list, 2nd generation titles from one console to B or C-list, launch titles oon another console will never be a competition. If you wanted to compare those two to MGS4, new Devil May Cry, or launch titles such as Warhawk, Resistance: FOM, or Motorstorm that would be more applicable. But wait, nevermind, you comment on every PS3 thread with a negative comment so I'm just wasting my time typing this out. Or we could just compare numbers from Gears of War and God of War 2 on PS2 wh...

Well yeah, it makes it easier when you have an engine such as Unreal Engine 3 that has most of the hard stuff already done and built in support for multithreading. It's the same scenario as when Mark Rein of Epic said that they were surprised at how fast they were able to get Unreal Tournament 2007 running on the early PS3 dev kits with unoptimized code at 48 FPS. That may speak more of the speed of the PPU part of the Cell, but it also shows that Unreal knows how to build a great engine ev...

Sometimes he's really cool, and others he just seems annoying. This was one of the annoying ones for me. Saying he'll buy a PS3 after a price drop, please. I'm sure he has plenty of money and will probably buy one right at launch. It just seemed like a MS fanboyish comment to me, that's all. But usually his interviews are really good and I enjoy his comments.

His comments about destructible environments and listening to what gamers didn't like about the Xbox 360 version are encouraging, but I'll believe it when I play this at the demopods. I am still very sceptical, but the screens look pretty good. There's a weird ghosting effect on a couple of the images, does anyone else see that?

That's what everyone said with the Dreamcast launching prior to the PS2. This is all a pissing contest at this point, as we won't know for another year minimum, probably 2-3 years what will happen.

It was probably a combination of reserving all of the available Blu-ray drives for the PS3, and that they can push their PS3 better by releasing it prior to their own, super expensive Blu-ray player. There are delays everywhere, you're reading too much into this. What date was Windows Vista originally supposed to be released? DOA4? You get my point, delays happen and I don't think it's any huge deal that the only Blu-ray player right now has major issues with image quality as it's somethi...

Gears of War is a great game and all, but you honestly think that Genji 2 is going to be the premiere PS3 launch title? Resistance, Warhawk, Motorstorm, etc should be able to hold their own as excellent launch titles. With the rumor going around about a possible MGS4 at launch or new Devil May Cry, the tables may be turned on MS.

Sony doesn't trickle out information like MS or do silly "viral marketing" campaigns that are supposed to feed anticipation. Then when the big announcement is made, everyone lets out a collective yawn such as with the Gears of War big announcement, which was nothing big as it was already announced to be released in 4th quarter of 2006. I guess it's big that they're releasing it 5 days ahead of the PS3 launch, but didn't everyone already figure that it would be released to combat t...

Maybe you shouldn't get too excited, theMART-

It's already been established that the factory settings in the Samsung player have noise reduction turned on, which results in a softer image. Samsung is said to be working on a firmware update to correct existing units, but will fix the issue on future production ...

How many games did the Xbox come out with over it's lifespan? How many did the PS2 come out with? How many did the PS1 come out with? Would you not expect the trend to continue with the same quantities of games coming out for PS3?
This guy in the article is about as unbiased as Peter Molyneax, nuff said.

PSZero and Beta Ray.... we have a mini-TheMART in training here. :)

If you don't like the news, then don't comment. Don't flame because you think that final specs should have been released. Plus, you know you'll be complaining when final specs are released anyway, so it wouldn't be any different for you.

Agreed, and as mentioned above. Wii will be later for me though. The article is incorrect, the correct quote was 40% PS3, 40% 360, and 20% Wii.

I guess they were just trying to find out if those rumors regarding Asustek mass producing consoles in end of June/July was true or not. Not surprising either way. Good to know though that the 10,000 dev kits spoken of are final kits with final controllers and all.

Both posts above are true. I voted lame, but probably shouldn't have voted at all because I don't really care about Atari, I can't think of any of their games that I'm excited for, other than Alone in the Dark 5, and as an above poster mentioned, that's already scheduled for mid 2007 so it doesn't really matter.

Looking nice, but this is PS3 and PC as well as 360, I believe.

wakkiwakko- I have absolutely no problem with you, but I can tell that you're a big fan of Nintendo. That's cool man, but I completely disagree with you in almost all aspects of this discussion, so I'll agree to disagree. I hope you enjoy the Wii and all the games that come out. :)

That's exactly what I'm saying. I don't care for gimmicky gameplay. I don't care for the DS either. I have an NES system and really don't enjoy the old games enough to play them, because once I've played something that looks better, it's hard for me to go back.

Also, we'll see how innovative it is in several years, if third party developers are still making games for it and if people think that it is worth paying $200-250 for a new control scheme. If you want to buy the W...
